I was driving down a highway (79, Heath, Ohio) and didn't notice the speed change to 35 mph from 50 (or at least I assume changed) and the next thing I know a traffic camera (the ones on a 4-5 foot stand white stand with a white box) flashes twice.
Will I get a ticket, and if so do I have a case against it in regards to a lack of a witness (no police vehicles pursued me) and an inadequate posting of a sudden speed change? |

I forgot to mention before that I was going anywhere from 41-46 when passing that camera (perhaps 48-50), but as I said above, the speed before the sudden flashing at me to my knowledge was 50 mph. This happened at 6:55 am. There was traffic around me.

Remote radars are becoming more popular these days, as there are more drivers on the road than every before and police cannot be everywhere at once.
It's possible you will receive a ticket in the mail. One thing I do not like about remote radars is they cannot sometimes capture who was driving the car. The registered owner is who gets the ticket in the mail regardless of who was actually driving the vehicle. This means the owner, whether or not he/she was driving, will end up with a speeding violation on their license and their insurance will most likely go up. Just wait and see whether you get a ticket, and then go from there. |

Only way to be sure is to wait and see what comes in the mail, there you will have your answer.

I received a ticket from camera in apparently the same area in Heath, Ohio on Rt 79. I did not know that the speed had changed to 35 either. I am going to return to that area to see how visible the speed limit sign is. These things are highway robbery by the law enforcement! One site I looked at said you can try not paying it because it was not delivered by an officer and you did not sign it. I'm thinking about trying that.
