trafic ticket

I just got a ticket from a hwy partrol stating : D1 FAILED TO VACATE THE LANE CLOSEST TO MY MARKED PATROL VEHICULE WITH EMERGENCY LIGHTS ACTIVATED.
I had 2 options when I was driving: first of all i did not have a full clear view where to hwy patrol was located cause a big truck was in fan of me. then when the truck changed the lane, i saw the hwy patrol within 100 yard then I tried to move to the other lane but i couldn't because the lane was busy, otherwise i will cause an accident (to satisfy the hwy patrol).
I feel i was trapped and the hwy patrol knows my situation but doesn't care. So I have to pay $166 and point will be assessed, or take a school class (cost $250), or inquire 2 c a judge (that may cause $500). which I'm thinking to do by explaining everything to the judge.

Any advice please

Is worth trying to explain. Just showing up results in many tickets being reduced or dismissed.
