Default Car color incorrect on ticket

I was cited for speeding 80/65 zone and the officer stated on the ticket that my car is grey. I want to fight the ticket (in california) due to the fact that I was behind a grey toyota camary (that was speeding) about 3 miles before I was pulled over . I think the cop had a case of mistaken identity, but I'm wondering if I have a case in court.

What documents/evidence do I need to request? The officer said he visualized my speed at 80 mph and used lidar at 84 mph. I also could not have been traveling very fast on a 2 lane hwy with big rigs everywhere surrounded by other vehicles. The officer claims he was under the over pass facing the same direction when he used his lidar.

Any advice on how to beat this ticket would be appreciated.

The first thing the Judge is likely to ask is how you recall there was a Grey Camry in front of you!?

Rarely does a judge throw out a ticket over the color of a car. They usually take the officer's testimony as credible.

I can't imagine how anyone can accurately "visualize" exactly how fast someone is going. But since he clocked you with radar, the ticket should have that information. Also, if you signed the ticket and didn't bring that up with the police officer you'll have a hard time proving your case.

Of course you are free to go to court and fight the ticket, but you'll need a more convincing argument than just the color he wrote down of what color car you were driving.

Incidentally, what color is your car?
