Obtaining a passport with a bench warrant?

Here's my situation
I had two bench warrants for speeding and failing to appear in court.
I payed the speeding warrant off but i still have the failure to appear warrant
Im trying to obtain a passport to move to japan and then get a working visa to work there for a year.
Will i have trouble with either case?

Sorry about your situation. It is difficult to give you an exact answer. The place to start would be USCIS Home Page to apply and see what decision you receive. Generally, this type of warrant may not appear on a national level and you may slip through. However, even if you are able to go to Japan you could encounter difficulty re-entering the States and that would be very upsetting. I would really encourage you to at least speak with an immigration/criminal defense attorney. You could get a referral by going to the WLD main page. Hope things work out for you in this. AJJ

Re-entering wouldn't be a problem cause id pay it off as soon as i got a job over there. But i see your point. I just needed verification. So basically i should just get it taken care of asap and then move forward.
