Default Red Light Ticket given wrongly--fight it?

I was given a ticket for running a red light. The officer said the light was clearly red before I crossed the stopline, but I know it did not turn red until I was already past the stop line. Also, the cop was never in a position to see whether the actual light I was accused of running was red or green, in fact, he was at or approaching a parallel intersection about 20-30 yards away from the light in question, and not on the same side to see the light. I did not have my registration in the car when she stopped me, though. As this is in Florida, I would have paid the fine and done traffic school, but I did that last year for a speeding ticket, so I'm within 12 months, so that's not an option for me to elect. If I just pay the fine, I get 4 points under Florida law.

Should I try to fight in in court?

How is proof establish for running a red light?

Is it feasible to do without a lawyer?

If received a ticket in Florida, up can take the 4 Hour Basic Driver Improvement (BDI & TCAC) course. By taking the class, you will not receive any points on your record for the current violation, your insurance will not increase as long as there is no accident associated with the ticket (statute 318.14 (9)), and your safe driver status will be maintained.
