Traffic Citation for Running red light!!

I desperately need this dropped, i am a college student i bought my own car and pay for my own insurance alone i cant afford points on my record which = higher insurance rates.
Well I was on campus, going back to my dorm room and i got pulled over for going through a red light.
However it was a pedestrian crossing where a red light was erected and no pedestrians were present. Also, the police officer didnt PHYSICALLY SEE me do it, he just assumed that i did because other cars were stopped on the opposite side of me, there are billions of trees in his way and he didnt round the corner until after i passed the place where the red light (about 10 feet from it)
also he wrote me up for failure to stop at a red light at an intersection
and it wasnt an intersection it was "at places other than an intersection".. it was a pedestrian crossing after a roundabout
please tell me if this is a good defense i have pictures
and anything else you can tell me to add to help me beat this!

How do you know for sure he didn't see you? your argument should not be about the intersection or crosswalk or other then an intersection. It should be about the red light was it operating ? was it in plain view? or was it hidden by tree branches and you didn't see it until you had passed it? or was there a sun glare bouncing off of it? Do you have pictures of him not seeing you or the light not working? If you got a good argument then fight it!
