NY speeing. am i screwed?
I was recently pulled over and issued a ticket, 95 in 45mph NY interstate work zone. I did not see the trooper who was following me and got my speed via pace. He did not pull me over because he had a prisoner in his car. He told me, through the window, to slow down and continue. A couple miles later I was pulled over and given a ticket by a different trooper who was radioed by the previous trooper. Is this worth attempting to fight or am I screwed? I appreciate any advice.
Thanks Brian |

How fast did you drive when you were pulled over the second time because the first one said that you should slow down and continue, so I think it's rather mean to call his colleague to stop you again.

Bend over and grab yer ankles!
What are you doing driving 95 in a 45 AND in a work zone! They should lock you up and toss the key. |

People need to stop responding to these as complete ****s like the previous poster "bend over and blah blah" Don't come onto these sites if you're just going to be a total ****. No one needs that and speeding tickets happen to the best of us. Get a life!!!
Anyways, I thought that the actual cop that witnessed your infraction was the only one who can give you a ticket? The cop who initially had seen you speeding should have told you to pull over and to stay there until another cop came to back up. If he could yell out the window to you he could've easily done that, pulled you over stayed in his vehicle with his person in the back seat and used his radio to call for back up. Go to Court. You have a good chance of winning this case or at least getting the Fine lowered. |

You can fight it but not on the grounds that the second officer pulled you over.
But see the fighting a speeding ticket article on World Law's main site as they do offer some tips that may help you--if you really want to try to fight it. |
