I had a line of credit in 2001 with MNBA. I lost my job and they wouldn't
work with me on payments. About 6 months later, they charged off the loan.
Now seven years later, a collection agency has filed a lawsuit against me in
municipal court in the small city I live in. I already went to court for
pre-trial. The attorney representing the collection agency filed a "Summary
Judgment" which I'm told is asking the court to rule on the case without
holding a trial. The court date is set for February 11th.

My question is, if I moved out of the city and out of the county, does this
court still have jurisdiction over me in the case? I will be moving to a
different city in a different county to be closer to my job.

If I send them a letter to tell them I moved on February 1st prior to the
court date, will this nullify and close the case or do you think the court
would still render a judgment anyway?

Am I obligated to attend the court case if I move? They never send a
summons, just a postcard with the court date and time.

Thank you for your time,
Greg in Ohio
