Default CALIFORNIA, can one file taxes for 2 years that i worked with different name

my brother-in-law is illeagl and he dont know if he can file taxes for 2 years that he worked under a fake name and fake ssn in the same company he still works at but now he works with his real name he talked to the person that does his taxes and he said he has 15k and he can file it but its risky what do you think?

You're asking us if he can commit fraud by trying to file for a tax refund under a fake name and SSN? If you have to ask, then shame on you.

I just hope he gets caught, that's all I have to say about it.

im asking if its illegal because he said the tax agent said it was ok but i told him he shouldent do it because it could be dangerous

Whether it was 6 months or 6 years ago, and no matter who is telling him it's OK to do it, it's ILLEGAL. Filing a false tax return under a false identity is NEVER OK to do.

Perhaps the tax agent thinks your friend can get away with it, or maybe not. Either way, it's NOT OK to do it.

i do not get why you put false tax return if he did work does 2 years worth but thanks for the help by the way
