Question income taxes

Would it be possible to have a federal law question answered as it would be interrpreted by the Supreme Court???

If an individual had filed a 2001 income tax, showing that an amount owed the I.R.S. was approx. $5,000.00, and later filed a bankruptcy petition in 2004, in which the debt to the I.R.S. was included, and was granted by the federal judge, is the debt still owed???? The I.R.S. says yes, however, other legal professionals say no!!!!! What do you say? Owed or NOT???
