Need Help with tax problem

I claimed my kid fo the 2007 income tax. My name is not on the birth certificate. I have DNA showing that the kid is mine and have been supporting the kid since she was born. We live in ohio and the mum has custody. She asked me to claim the kid in my income tax since I have be supporting and she has sent an affidevit to IRS and they still want me to show residency, I m confuse before the mum has custody which she gave to me.
Please I need help

what do you mean actually--what is the problem...you mean they want you to show the child lives with you? Or what.

yes they want to show that the child live with. even though the law give custody to the mum

yes, the law needs a certificate with your name in order to minimize the problem when claiming the child. Before the child will live with you, you must have the papers or documents of the child and the mum that in the docu the child would live with you and blahblah... just ask your lawyer
