EEK! zoned one way taxed another

I just don't understand how you can be taxed commercially but zoned pr/ag? I can't get commercial loans on my property because I am not zoned commercial but yet I have to pay commercial taxes. I have a land use permit for part of my property for a campground. But that is only 5 acres, the other 18 acres is not supposed to be used for the campground. This sure is confusing. They won't let me use my campground as commerial if I want an equity loan either.

Ask your tax authority to explain in writing as a first step. You may also want your city or county commissioner to become involved. You may actually be entitled to a lower rate.
