SIR, we are one of the organisation , providing a services A COMPLETE LOGISTICS SOLUTIONS like carriying , forwarding , transportation etc . as we have already started the working from january onwards we are issuing invoice , mentioning port charges , transportation charges , dentention charges if any , and agency commission etc . as all this charges in being reimburse by the principal and we are only getting as agency commission as our profit . so please let me know about registration for service tax is required , if where our agency commission is not crossing ten lakh p.a. please let me know that this turnover of ten lakn is counted on agengy commission , and in invoice can we charge service tax,, and on what percentage we have to charge service tax . and if we have to take the registration can we take it now and please let me know that how to prepare a correct invoice do guide me and oblige , ,

SIR WE ARE PREPARING THE INVOICE LIKE AS MENTIONED AND AN ALL THE EXPENSES IS BEING REIMMBURSED BY THE PRINCIPAL TO WHOM WE ARE PROVIDING THE SERVICE , WE ARE GETTING THE PROFIT OF AGENCY COMMISSIONS ONLY AND WE ARE CHARGING SERVICE TAX ON THE SUCH COMMISSIONS ,

SO PLEASE INFORM ME THAT AS WE HAVE ALREADY STARTED THE BUSINESS
SO CAN WE APPLY FOR THE REGISTRAION FOR THE SERVICE TAX NUMBER
PLEASE EDUCATE THAT THE SERVICE TAX IS BEING CHARGED IF THE TURNOVER CROSSES 10- LAC PER ANNUM , SO THE QUIRY IS THAT THIS TURNOVER IS CALCULATED ON THE BASIS OF AGENCY COMMISSION WHAT WE CHARGE, AS BECAUSE WE ARE GETTING THE PROFIT OF COMMISSION ONLY ,

The tax is only on your actual earnings, the commission normally.
