Hi there. I recently ran a fundraiser for a local non-profit in which we collected used items from households and sold them on eBay, and it went so well that I want to start a non-profit that runs and manages similar fundraisers for other charities. I've been reading up on forming it myself and I'm ready to draft an Articles of Corporation and file, but I don't know if we'd be eligible to be a non-profit. We'd essentially be a business, but all of our products would be donated, much like a thrift store. Could it qualify as a non-profit? If so, could it qualify as tax deductible?
Much thanks, Ryan |
