I would like to know how long it takes (about) to do all the paperwork to start a non-profit organization?

Remember that in forming a nonprofit company, increased paperwork is required. Articles of incorporation must be filed with the state, bylaws prepared, and meeting minutes documented, which must be kept with the corporation's records. Also, applications for tax-exempt status must be filed at both the federal and state levels. Like with standard for-profit corporations, the IRS imposes annual reporting or filing requirements on most nonprofits, even though taxes are not paid.
