Smile Can a EU citizen start a non-profit in US?

Hi,
I am an Italian architect.

I worked for two years on a project, born after Katrina disaster in New Orleans, the design of hi-tech, eco-sustainable houses, created for rapid reconstruction of urban areas struck by natural disasters.

I did a web site presenting all the project and now I would like to start a non-profit in the US, rather than in EU.

May I ask you if:

1) Is it possible?

2) If I open the non-profit in the EU, could US citizens deduct their donations from taxes, like if the non-profit were based in the US?

3) If I open the non-profit in the EU, could other US non-profits organizations deduct their donations from taxes (if they need to do that), like if the non-profit were based in the US?

Thank you very much!!

If you want US citizens to be able to deduct, the nonprofit has to be approved and authorized here in the USA--but you can still have an office or even headquarters in the EU.

I am sure World Law could do that for you if need be. An EU citizen is allowed to do that yes when structured correctly.

Thumbs Up Re: Can a EU citizen start a non-profit in US?

Thanks a lot! This is an important help for me.

Do you think that they can manage the whole thing, I mean the set up in the EU and the documents for deduction in the US?

I am new in this forum. How can I contact the World law lawyers?
Thank you in advance!
