Default Starting a new .COM service, and need to know if this is ok

Hey all,

We are in the beginning stages of developing a new service much like gomobo.com with similar concepts - but from what we believe to be much easier to use and much more effective.

The domain we have registered is mobomenu.com, will that pose a problem?

They have a trademark registered for gomobo but the word mobo is a slang phrase used by many to refer to a mobile phone.

Also does anyone forsee any other problems that we may run into?

This system is turning out to be very expensive to develop and integrate with the telecom companies, and we would like to avoid any future "problem" expenses...

Also, if everything sounds ok, we will need to look for a business attorney that could help handle the legal ends - please refer any that would be good in this area as well as other legal expenses and would be willing to work with a new startup company.

Thanks,

Mike

Thumbs Down Re: Starting a new .COM service, and need to know if this is ok

GoMobo (whose DBA name is "Mobo Systems, Inc.") has a trademark for "Mobo" and "Skip the Line," as well as "GoMobo." The firm has a history of defending its marks against well-healed competitors. Naming your service "mobomenu" will lead to confusion in the marketplace and a trademark challenge from GoMobo if you gain visibility in the coming months. I'd advise against it.

Nevermind on that, I found other competitors so Im assuming I should be Ok.

I also own the name CellyToGo.com and GoCelly.com -- would either name pose a problem?

the word "Go" in front of the domain, would that pose any trademark infringement?

Thanks for all the help,

Mike

That would not seem to conflict with the mobo-related trademarks.
