Hi,
I would like to know if I want to run a tuition agency business from home on a freelance basis cos I am still holding a full time job. Do I need to registered as a company with the Registry of Singapore? This will be a 1 man run business without any assets or facilities except for the use of computer and phone lines. |

Yes but you cannot engage in any business that in any way competes with or is adverse to your employer.

I have just recently started marketing online and I'm just curious to see what others are using to market their business online.

I have a friend who is working in one of multinational company and decided to put up her own business while still working in the former. She registered her own company with the knowledge of the company shes working right now; I think theres no issue between them as long as the business is not the same and theres no competition at all.

Everyone has absolutely excellent advice. Nowadays home businesses are becoming very popular because of unavailability of jobs or may be due to the comfort that goes with them and these are really becoming very popular in housewives.

If you are working full time in the company office , yes you can register.
If working a freelance full time home based, your profile information will be listed in the company. Make sure If you are working at home in the said company, that company is a registered global in that place or country then see the full details if that person hiring you is a full time working in the said company.. TY.
