Collection Business
I am thinking of opening a Collection Business in Maryland. I hear that I need to have a $5000 Surety Bond. What is this? Do I have to have it?

Call the state dept of corporations and they will refer you to the correct licensing board; normally you need to be licensed and pay a bond that is basically like insurance if you do something wrong.
