Hello, I have a question regarding international shipment. I want to do business internationally. I have a supplier that can export the goods with a tracking number directly to the consumer. I want to know if there is some kind of way the post office can provide the service of checking the contents of the package, before it is shipped and providing proof that contents are what they say they are, so that if the consumer tries to charge back (with paypal or credit cards) claiming correct goods are not received, I would never have the problem of providing proof. Some kind of receipt that would provide proof of the contents of the package. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you

Postal Authorities of every country have their own laws and procedure governing the Postal export and import of goods. The Postal authorities are provided with a declaration by the sender of the contents of the package and a duplicate copy of this declaration can be retained by the sender. Further, the Postal export and import must comply with the custom clearance and levy of custom duty as applicable. Also on the Postal Receipt the weight of the package is endorsed. At the time of receipt by the recipient if package is damaged it can be endorsed by the recipient for claiming the damage. It may be noted that the goods sent can also be insured for such contingency. It may be prudent to send a copy of the invoice enclosed in the package clearly stating the items sent along with their value.

But someone could claim on the packing slip it is something, when really the post office representative never necessary confirmed the contents. I understand we can write what the contents of the box are, and that we can insure it, and include invoices and weight of box, but that doesn't identify as proof the contents of the box. What I am asking is if there is some way to have the contents of the box PROVEN to contain what claims to be shipped, in writing, to show to a credit card company in a case of testimony.

I was thinking that should be invented. It would be a way the post office could make more money.. and would be very convenience. If it is sent to a third party first, such as myself and then to consumer (instead of a simple dropship), I spend $100 more shipping the product around. However, it gives me the peace of mind knowing that I sent the customer the product I am proud of. Touche!
