Confused Return of Property

Please help! I left a common law relationship over 10 years ago. I wanted and got no money when I left and took only my own possessions.
However, in spite, my ex kept the original and only copy of my Masters Thesis. I was just happy to get out of a bad situation at the time.
I have been stewing over this for, as you can tell, a long time. The question I have is "Do I have recourse for trying to recover my Masters Thesis?" even after more than 10 years.

Default Re: Return of Property

Yes, your ex has to give it back to you. Any court would order your ex to do so if you have to go to court.
