i am being called by debt collectors non-stop about a debt me and my ex acquired during our short marriage. debt people are threatening me now with a summons and so i am left with this question. should i get a lawyer and sue my ex for what he was supposed to have paid now, or first pay off this debt which is his and then take him to court. i have already paid off my half of the debt over a year ago and all that is left is his and what interest has grown to be.

You can sue him now or later...he does owe it now.
But your damages will be clearer if you have paid and/or if it is on your credit report now. |
