I would suggest you also file a complaint with the FBI in addition to your state AG.

Thumbs Down Re: Cashback America rebate - scam?

FRAUD!!!
I realize now after going through all the same steps that I was TOOK! It makes me furious that people stoop to this level and take advantage of people. My deal was the same. Do all these steps, Wait 54 months, then do all these other steps, and then find out the address is no good and there is no way to contact anyone about it. I realize it was my mistake to believe this was the real deal but they did follow through the first time with what I mailed them so at that time I had no reason to doubt them. But when it came time to get my rebate they are magically gone!!!

if there is something I can do please post it so I can

Small Wyoming town, giant scam. Bought a cargo trailer from a company in Powell Wy. and now they are out of business too. Feels like you just can't trust anyone. I taped that $500 rebate coupon on my frig and it stayed there 3 years. I say lets find them no good thieves, and make them pay. Scamming thousands of hard working Americans should be worth some prison time. But then again, it seems like the news is full of people just like them, cheating and stealing form good people. Sorry to everyone who lost out. My loss is small compared to some of the others, but I am just as angry.

Default Cashback America Rebate

I also bought the same timeshare in Puerto Vallerta in 10/04 and followed the same confusing rebate trail. I am due to submit it this month 6/09 and get no answer at Cash Back or US Trust. I also called the timeshare co. and the last # they have for US Trust is disconnected. I was due $16,000. Can you let me know specifically what you have filed with Florida and who you called (phone #). Thank you

I too was duped by representatives of Cash Back America when I bought more time at a timeshare in Puerto Villarta 54 months ago. I have read the sad postings. Question: must I go thru the futile exercise of presenting my worthless vouchers to have a legal claim against CBA?

i worked for a car dealer who got involved with these people. first of all most products that were sold with this "rebate" were sold at a competitive price and people who bought said products were told up front and shown a vidio that also told them not to buy the products because of the rebate that being said it appears to have been nothing but a ponzi scheme who's incoming money finally ran out! IF ITS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBALLY IS! sellers who participated in these programs did so in good faith and were also taken! they were charged a 10% fee for each rebate ex. 10,000 rebate = 1,000 fee. customers could not be told of this fee or given the option of taking the fee off the price instead of the rebate. i thought it was a gooffy program but our REPUTABLE DEALERSHIP looked into the cashback company and it all checked out with better bus. bu. in orlando.

It's pretty hard to research the validity of a rebate when you're buying a timeshare on an island that doesn't have roads or internet service. Woulda-coulda-shoulda. It's 'ttorney time. Good luck to everyone, and yeah, let's work together to bring these guys down.

Dude. We didn't BUY the rebate program. It was presented as an additional incentive to purchase the product s we bought. I think almost everyone who bought product with the rebate attached believes they goot a good product at a good price regardless of the rebate. This is more about principle. The rebate program was an additional incentive to make the purchase. If you are dillligent and carefully do the pocess there will be this rebate come back to you...4 1/2 years down the road. Cool! So those of us who were indeed careful and fastidious expected the reward for our peresverence as much as anything. It wasn't the initial purchase of the product that was a scam, it was this additional motivator, which those selling the product bought into as well, that was the scam. My understanding is that THEY ( those selling the product) actually paid money to this company which was to pay these guys fee as well as cover the rebates that were actually collected. We consumers were not the only ones ripped off. They scammed the people who were selling the product we bought as well.

I too was dooped by CBA... bought an ATV at ACE MOTORSPORTS in Kenosha, WI in 2005.... they told us about the rebate, said they could offer it to us, but we couldn't haggle on the price... therefore we paid full sticker price... did everything we needed to to for CBA and then the same thing happened - can't contact them... I called ACE MOTORSPORTS and they said it wasn't their problem... I told them since CBA (a company they chose to do biz with) wasn't honoring their part of the bargin - than i should at least be able to get something back on my ATV since we paid full sticker price... they said NO!!! I paid over $6000 for the ATV and was suppose to get back from CBA $3000.

The Florida Atty. Gen. has a class action suit against them... I sent them our Affidavit in Feb. 2008 to Office of the Attorney General, Economic Crimes Division, Orlando Bureau, 135 W. Central Blvd., Suite 1000, Orlando, FL. 32801 - contact number 407-999-5588. I think you can file a affidavit if you go to Florida Attorney General - Home Page

I really don't think any of us will see any money, and if we do - it will be a SMALL fraction of what we were suppose to get... keep the faith
