Loan payment & wedding expenses

My ex-fiance broke off the wedding 2 months prior to it happening. I have basically paid for everything. Most stuff was fully paid already. I asked him for at least half of the expenses and he refuses to pay. Also back in February I loaned hime some money to pay off college tuition and student loans. He did pay part of it but he still has 2,500 left. He claims that since I received his work checks that I could of paid it off, but since I didn't pull any out it's my fault. I stopped pulling out money because our monthly expenses doubled. Do you think I would have a chance in small claims court?
