What do I do now? Accepted a summons for someone else with same name as me
I was served with a summons with a lawsuit from a debt collector looking for $6000. The lawsuit names me (with the incorrect middle initial) and my correct address, but all of the evidence stapled to the summons points to someone with the same name as me who lives in the same city.
What do I do first about getting rid of this, and taking my name and address off of this summons? Any info would be helpful. |

Call them and explain. If they refuse to withdraw it then go to court and show it is not you.
They will be sanctioned/fined if they continue and know it is not you. |
