Confused Inconvenience and risk to life - Faulty Bike repair

Goodday,

I currently live in Bermuda. I had given my bike for repair to a Bike mechanic in June 2006. He is the only person on the island who has the parts to repair my bike, hence i cannot go to anyother mechanic. I also informed him about my intention to sell my bike.

He took 2 months to repair the bike, after which in 1 week the bike started giving troubles again. Occassionally the bike would suddenly stop in the middle of the street, which had potential dangerous effects. However, since i could not start the bike, he asked his friend to repair a small battery problem, which his friend did. The bike worked for a couple of days and then completly stopped once again.

I spoke to some people mentioning that i wanted to sell my bike and i infomed the mechanic as well. But It has been another 2-2.5 months the bike is still not repaired. The people who were intially interested are no longer interested as they have waited enough and purchased other bikes.

This has caused me significant inconveniences both financially and physically. I have called the mechanic almost everyday in the last 2-3 months. he keeps making promises that the bike will be ready tomorrow and never delivers. the public transportation in Bermuda is pathetic and most often I have to use cabs to get to and fro from work or any other place.

Can i sue him in the civil court?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Yes! Based on what you say here, you could file suit against him and collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to his behavior...
