Confused Unpaid Work -- I have been working as a writer for Eduwriters.com

I have been working as a writer for Eduwriters.com since August 2010. Since then, I have delivered acceptable work and, on their part, they have been remitting payments on time. My account was suspended on the 18th of May. One of the staff, Mr.Vince, informed me that my papers were under investigation and this was to take a week after which I was to receive a report from the editing department. I have not received payment for May. It is almost the end of June, yet no report has been provided. To make matters worse, there has not been any communication as to when I will receive my $711. I have been sending several emails to him, but he has gone silent for days. This has greatly inconvenienced me; my bills remain unpaid (including my rent). I have not been able to work for the month of June and I am having problems supporting my family.
The funny thing is, Vince is still holding my money yet he has the nerve to send me more work, asking me to deliver so that he can pay me immediately for that work. I am wondering how I can work on new orders, yet previous work remains unpaid for no clear reason. I have a contract with the company, which guarantees that payments should be made on the 7th business day. Even in case of a problem with my papers, I should have been given a full report so that I can understand which papers had problems and which ones were good so that I can receive my pay. The business is located in the State of Nevada (550 West Plumb Lane Ste.B215 Reno, NV 89509). Fax number is 815-346-5327, Phone number 1-815-346-5327. I would like to get my payment of $711. I am a mathematics and economics graduate and I have been delivering quality work for almost 2 years. I will appreciate your help so that I can recover my money.

I wish to inform you that you can claim money under breach of contract. You may calculate unpaid amount and then send a notice to other party that amount must be paid to you otherwise you will file a lawsuit. If your amount is not paid then you can contact Bar Association and can have list of lawyers or through other professional networking sites. You may then contact a lawyer and have your case filed in Small Claims Court for recovery of your losses. You can have a lawyer on contingency.

Hello AFF,
Thanks for taking time to respond to my query. How do I start this process officially? My former employers have refused to pay and the only option I have is to seek legal assistance. Your help and advice is highly appreciated.

I would like to say that if an employer does not pay an employee for his labor, the employee can submit a complaint to the Department of Labor by visiting a local office in your country. Employees can also file a private lawsuit through which they can receive compensation for unpaid work, attorney's fees and court costs. Employers cannot discriminate against or fire an employee for reporting labor violations.
