Angry Letter from attorney (not an attorney)

I received a letter today in the mail from an "attorney". I don't think the person that sent me the letter is actually an attorney though. I called the phone number on the letter head and it was not an attorney's office. I feel like this is illegal or at least harrassment and would like some advice.

Is there any type of legal action I can take against this person if they are not actually an attorney? The letter states that they are a member of my states bar association and says "Attorney at Law".

The letter is informing me that if I do not contact them within 10 days further action will be taken.

It is a crime to say it is an attorney when it is not. You could report it to the district attorney's office!

How do I find out if the person is actually an attorney? If it is determined that this person is not an attorney how would I go about reporting them to the district attorney's office?

Call the state bar to verify.
