Default Client Put Stop Payment After Services Completed

We had a costumer come in and have work done on his truck. He wrote a check but is from Arizona and we're in Kansas. He was on his way back and his truck broke down again so he stopped the payment on the check, which was worth $4,100. Instead of having the truck towed back to our shop which was closer he had it towed to another town farther away. I have gone to the police, called my lawyer, and been to the courthouse.I am going to write a letter and I was wondering if anyone had ideas on what to include in the letter. They all say I really can't do anything that would do much. What this guy did though is stealing, you can't tell me that he can just get away with that. Please if anyone has any idea on what I can do, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!! Thank you!

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against him (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to his behavior... You may also report him to your state attorney general's office and police dept for fraud--but they may say take it to court since there is a dispute over the services involved.
