Hi I have a major problem. Back in 2001 I opened a cell phone for my brother, before the 30 days was up I told them to turn off the phones. They(AT&T)said yes aprox 3 mths later I received a cell phone bill for over $6000.00 all in less than 4-5 mths. They never turned off the phone. They ignored me and sent the bill to collections and now it is on my credit report. What can I do, I have tried to reach At&T but they have sold they wireless service to Cincular. What can I do?

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court. They may very well settle.
