LawQ3TBYjsuit filed against me

I was recently served a summons to appear in court, regarding an auto loan I had defaulted on. This occurred in Arizona. I have either 20 or 30 days to reply. At the time I negotiated the original car loan, I was healthy and working full time. Since then. I had triple bypass heart surgery and numerous complications from my diabetes(I am a 54 year old juvenile diabetic). I have also been placed on 100% disability from the Social Security Administration. I now live on a fixed income, about $400 a week. The company suing me, is Prestige Finance, located in Salt Lake City. They want me to pay $16000 dollars for defaulting on the car loan. I had already returned the car to them, which they sold at an auction. I explained my situation to them, two years ago. On March 7th., I was served with a summons, naming me as the person liable, in the lawsuit. My disabilty, prevents me from working fulltime.
Do I have to go to court? Should I hire a pro bono lawyer? The company is unwilling to negotiate.
