Auto Title Loan Judgment

I got sued in Louisiana on an auto title loan for getting behind on payments.Now I have a judgment against me for an amount more than the car is worth.I am curious as to why the lawsuit does not mention the auto....only a monetary figure.I don't have a bank account,no wages to garnish,nothing they can take except the little car.If the car was not mentioned in the lawsuit,do they have to give me my title back?I know the answer is probally no,so that makes me wonder,is there a time limit on how long they have to make a move for the car.Thanks and Happy Labor Day to Everyone!!

Ask the sheriff it the car may be exempt from collection on a judgment.

But if it was a legal title loan you normally will not get it back if you failed to pay. That is what the loan terms provide. Those loans are illegal in many states if not related to the car purchase money.

Thanks for the reply.If anyone is considering a loan of this nature,it is a good idea to purchase insurance to cover the loan payments should you become disabled.
