I let a "friend" borrow money and he asked me to leave it blank where it says to whom so that one of his sibblings can cash it (I should have know something was up). Well to date (6months later) I have not received my money and found out that his friend cashed the check for him. I wrote LOAN at the bottom of the check (it was $1600). Can I sue him for the money or do I have to sue the friend since he cashed the check and is there a way the bank can locate the person that cashed the check because I dont know him?
