Default Scammed by Cheaptickets.com? Help wanted!

I am from the Netherlands, Europe

Hello,

3 days ago me and my girlfriend bought two returntickets from Amsterdam to Las Vegas.
Instead of our first names I entered our initials. When I notices this mistake I posted an e-mail to cheaptickets.com within 24 hours after reservation in order to correct the names. Cheaptickets returned an standard looking e-mail to me. But they failed to handle my problem and the customer "support" of Continental Airlines couldnt help me either.

The current situation is that I am unable to travel (since cheaptickets.com cannot provide me with the right documents) And I wont get my money back!!

Am I beeing scammed???

Are these the values of cheaptickets.com and Continental Airlines.

I`m hoping someone is able to help me!

With kind regards (and free advice: be carefull with certain organisation)

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office.

Default Re: Scammed by Cheaptickets.com? Help wanted! situation solved

Thank god the solved the situation.

It cost me over a 14 hours of phonecalls to the usa wit both cheaptickets and continentel but finally they (continental) changed the name on our travel documents.

However I still think the procedure in its current form is kinda weird.

In Europe when someone maked an purchase over the internet there will always be a 7day "cooling off" period. When using an intermediair or middle person he or she always carries a huge responsibillity, since they are proffessionals and we, as customers, are not.

Ultimately im happy the situation seems to be solved and my girlfriend and me are able to continue our holliday.

Thanks for response,

With kind regards,

Val

Great to hear--persistence does pay off in many cases.
