i took my boat in for the motor to be overhauled, the guy broke off all the studs and cracked the head, i payed him for his work but refused to pay for fixing what he broke now he is sueing me in court. wanted some advise i live in south carolina

It's a tough one.
The reason is that if the broken parts were rusted or unable to be removed without breaking, then he is not liable. It will be very hard to prove either way. Unless you can provide an expert witness that the legal forum you choose accepts, and such witness can provide a reasonable explanation that the parts should have never broken, then you may have a chance. Usually expert testimony will cost you but such cost may be recoverable IF you win the case… Good Luck |
