I live in Minnesota. Are there any lawyers that do pro bono work anymore? Do Public defenders try a case in only criminal matters?
I lost my case and the defendant said he did a counterclaim but the courts could not find any record of it so they could not have their counterclaim heard at the same time. Now, they are going to re-do their counterclaim. If it wasn't heard during my claim would theirs still be called a counterclaim or would it be a whole seperate case? If so, could I then do a counterclaim to theirs even though I just went to court on the same matter? Or do I just do an appeal? Either way, I am not confident of winning alone after how my case went. The defendant had a lawyer/witness in small claims and the judge said she had to decide which she will be because she kept going back and forth between the two and the judge said he wants to make it fair for me. I do belive the judge was bias because she was a lawyer. In the defendants counterclaim/new claim he that he files he will also have a lawyer present. Anyways, where would I look for an attorney that could help me through this process? Before I first went to court I called a Legal Aid place and they wouldn't help me. Now that the stakes are higher, his amount is way above what I was asking for, should I call Legal Aid again or do you have any suggestions? Thank you! |

I would suggest you email world law direct on their home page--they may confidentially review your details and help advise you how to proceed with the case for low cost or no-cost
What was your case about? |
