Cease letter and small claims in Alabama
I had a payday loan in which I had been making payments on until the company decided what I was paying wasn't enough. They started calling me at home, work, my references, etc. I sent a cease letter to them and then a few days later I was served with papers for small claims at work.l Do I have any recourse with them?

You may and should appear at court. You might argue the interest was misleading and excessive and show what you paid.
Dispute the loan as fraudulent if need be and the judge may agree. |
