Default If your attorney doesn't notify you that you are being served from another attorney..

California. Ok here's a little background info...I tried to evict a tenant and lost due to a techicality. So the tenant's attorney tries to go after me for her attorney fees and sends my attorney a notice that I am being served to appear in court for that hearing. My attorney files an opposition, but NEVER shows up to court and hence the judge awards in favor of the tenant's attorney. So now I get a letter from my attorney stating that a judgement was ruled in favor of the tenant's attorney for X amount of dollars for attorney fees. I received this notice a month and a half after the judgement date. Now keep in mind, my attorney NEVER informed me verbally or through written notification that I was being served or that they filed an opposition. So I was in the dark the whole time until I got the letter saying that a judgement was ruled against me. So my question is, can I go after my attorney in small claims for not fulfilling his duty as my attorney by notifying me of these actions? If so, what evidence would you guys recommend I take with me to small claims?
