I loaned $1,300 to a former coworker (and someone who I thought was my friend) who was down on her knees begging me to help her. Well, I did and I did so without a written promissory note. We more or less had a verbal good faith agreement and I thought I could trust her.
I am no longer at the company where I used to work and I have called her numerous times and emailed her. She has responded to my emails and in her most recent email (4 months ago), she acknowledged the amount she owes me and put in writing a repayment plan detailing installments that she would pay me and then having me paid off by the end of July. To date, I have received nothing. Do you think I have a chance to get my money back if I print out the emails and take them to court? Thanks. |
