Default reducing small claims amount

Can i choose to lower the dollar amount of my claim?

e.g. he owed me 6500 dollars but use small clams and sue for 5000?

Default Re: reducing small claims amount

Yes you can do that.

Once you file and win you will likely not be able to sue on the extra amount you will be limited to what you filed for.
