In State of Idaho
We asked and the psych Doc told us he had obtained the required prior approvals for testing of our son; he lied. Now Blue Cross will not pay. Doc led us along until it was too late to protest charge to Blue Cross. Now he is suing us for full charge. We are near broke after son's open heart surgery. Will the doctrine of "reasonable expectation" (in this case to tell the truth and competantly bill as he advertised to us) protect us from paying more than the co-pay? thank-you |

You are entitled to rely on that as it was part of his professional services. That would make him responsible at least partly for costs and damages you suffered. That should be a defense or even a reason to sue or counterclaim. World Law's lawyers could also probably intervene and help resolve this if need be. You may email them on the home page. |
