Commercial Claim - Defamation of Character?

We are Promoters (claimant) suing Lounge (defendant) for an unpaid bar commissions and damaged reputation.

The question is about damaged reputation part of the law suit. We (promoters) have a written contract with the Lounge, which states that our clients receive complimentray drinks and bottles. On the night of our event the Lounge management denied our clients complimentray drinks and Bottles. This was insulting and now our clients do not wish to do any business with us (Promoters) in the future.

1. What is this called in legal terms: Defamation of Character? And if so what are the methods we should explore in prooving it.

2. The Defendents Business Entity Legal Address as listed in NYS Department of State database is incorrect. Therefore, there were no-service on the first court attempt. How do we tell the judge (what is the proper legal term) to mandate to the defendat to correct their legal mailing address in the system?

You will not likely get damages for lost future business but you certainly can get the contract funds back and some reasonable damages.
