Confused Unused Earned Vacation

I work for an employer's office, and we have a clause in our Employee Handbook that says "Co-workers shall not be paid for unused vacation time upon separation from the Company regardless of the reason unless such payment is required by applicable state law." We have stores in 13 states, and I know Denver requires us to pay it out. Do you know if any other state, or all states, have a required stipulation that unused earned vacation has to be paid out when the employee separates?

Default Re: Unused Earned Vacation

Most states require it.

You could consult your nearest Department of Labor office --
