Back Pay
The job I am currently at was about 4 months late to my first salary review. I complained numerous times and requested back pay for that time that the raise should have been given. I never got a response and finally gave up. Now my yearly review is again late. I have requested the review and made comments about getting the back pay for the late review. Nothing. The problem is EVERYONE else that works there has had late reviews also, but EVERYONE has gotten a check for their back pay. The only reason I can see why I am not getting the back pay is because numerous times lately I have gone over the bosses head to the next guy up on the totem pole. Do they have the legal right to with hold my back pay, especially when everyone else in the company has been reimburrsed?

You could report it to your nearest Department of Labor office to briefly discuss the issue with them first...you may also want to ask the company to put what is happening in writing and explain to them that you may have attorneys review the situation...try speaking to a higher level of management about the issue; they may override the other managers. If none of these efforts resolves the issue, let us know.
Or sue in small claims if need be. |
