Angry Broken Word

I was working for a Fortune 500 company for over a year, and while doing so I was subcontracting for a fleetwashing and detailing business. It was my position to find workers to fleetwash and to manage them as well as the accounts they were assigned to. Initially it was said that I would be managing the fleetwashing of over 3000 vehicles bi-weekly, when in reality it turned out to be roughly 100 or so. I was told by the company that I was subcontracting for to search and acquire contracts of my own to cover some of the downtime (i.e. Find car lots and businesses of that nature to fleetwash). I was getting paid stricly off of the amount of business I was generating (commission only). It was at this point when I asked the company who I was subcontracting for, could I get paid a salary of $30,000 if I were to quit my full-time job (where I was making $52,000 annually) and work as a business manager for them and they answered "yes" (the company had a great niche and I really thought that I could help them grow ans that there was a great opportunity to generate a higher income). I asked him repeatedly to make sure their were no gaps in communication and he was stern in saying that I would get paid $1250 bi-weekly. The owner of the business had always paid me on time and there was never an issue, and we had a great relationship up to this point. I ended up leaving my job (on good terms), and moved to the city where the business was located (which happened to be my hometown), and upon arriving I handled all the business work and acquired and maintained contracts for him, however each week there was a new excuse as to why I didn't get paid. As time went by and the excuses became more and more common, it had been 3 months since I had began working full-time and STILL hadn't gotten paid once. I had brought on more workers, brought in more contracts, handled administrative issues and more. I kept being promised "big bucks" and to hold off because it was coming. I was also made aware that someone else controlled the cash flow of the company and he was pretty shaky on paying me a salary (as well as whether or not the company NEEDED my position).

Well, now I'm at a point where my savings has run out and my money is non-existent, and I'm STILL yet to be paid ANYTHING. I've basically thrown away my career and lifestyle, to work for FREE. I have dated records of work completed for them. Do I have any case at all to sue this company or the owner?

Angry Re: Broken Word

Oh, and a large reason I decided to make that decision, was because I was going to have the opportunity to work from home (which at the time seemed ideal--which it is, however not for FREE! >:-O )
