Hi,
I had one full time job and a part time job. I worked full time for the University of Maryland and part time for CVS. I got laid off from my full time job at the end of June and I left voluntarily from my part time job at the same time. I needed more time to update my resume and look for another job. I have found a full time position and I will start the 6th of August. I am denied benefits because they said I quitted the part time job voluntarily. I can appeal the decision, which I wanted to, but I have no other reason than the one I had already given them (I quitted the part time job because I needed more time to search for a full time employment). I think the decision was not fair, because I had worked for the State of Maryland as a full time employee for three years and worked for CVS only few days a week for less than 6 months. I did not expect to get benefit for the CVS job. I am an immigrant to this country and any advice will be very much appreciated. Thank you so much. Almaz |

That usually will not suffice--you did quit. But you can try to argue that it left you unable to survive and you need unemployment at least as to the amount lost from the full time job.
