Are Store Managers entitled to overtime pay in California?

I am a Store Manager for a customer-service oriented business located in California. I work 10- to 12-hours per day six days a week. I am paid a fixed salary every month. Since I am a Store Manager, my employers say I am exempt from overtime pay. Am I really exempt and not entitled to overtime?

I know this is a bit old, but just having the title "manager" does not make you exempt. You must meet the test for exemption. "Store Manger", if you're still around, are you paid at least $640 a week (twice the minimum wage x 40 hrs)? What do your duties include? Is most of your time spent doing the same work as your employees? Do you have authority to hire and fire employees, or give suggestions about hiring, firing and promotion, that will be taken into consideration by your boss?
