I have a friend in Texas who just informed me that his supervisor is changing his time every day on the Kronos time system and docking him 15 minutes of pay every morning "to make the stats look better" according to her. Isn't this an illegal practice?! Couldn't the company be sued for this? I don't know how many other employees she may be doing the same thing to their time cards without their knowledge. Does anyone have any input on this?

Yes if the employer is altering time records to suit their recordkeeping needs it could be illegal if their alterations result in people being deducted for time they worked. If they get there and punch in at 6:45am instead of 7:00am and the employer goes in to change their in time to 7:00am then that is illegal. Most likely result is that they would undergo a wage survey and calculate if the employer owes employees backed wages.
