Unhappy Tipping out bus boys and bartenders in New York

(NY) I have been told by the restaurant I work at that I am required to tip out the bus boys and bartender at the end of my shift. Is this legal? I have never been required to do this before.

U.S. Federal law allows the employer to require directly-tipped employees contribute to a tip pool...

EEK! Re: Tipping out bus boys and bartenders in New York

Both are the bartender and the busboys are contributing to your performance. Why would you think you should keep all the money made and not tip them out?
It's a pretty standard practice.

The bus boys generally makes twice the amount in Salary than a waiter. Generally speaking, if You should not tip out more than 3% of your food sales to the bussers.
