NOT PAID FOR FULL VACATION TIM

I WORK FOR ERAC, AND THEY HAVE CUT OUR PAY AND HOURS BACK TO 8HRS A DAY. I ACCRUED OVER 30 DAYS VACATION TIME BEFORE THE CUT BACKS. THE 30 DAYS WERE TABULATED AT MY USUALL 10HR DAY. NOW THAT THEY ARE AT ONLY 8HRS. ERAC REFUSES TO GIVE ME THE EXTRA 2 HOURS EARNED PER DAY THAT I ACCURED. THEY ARE TAKING AWAY MONEY THAT I HONESTLY EARNED. IS THIS LEGAL?

I'm not a lawyer but I experienced a situation like this about 20 years ago. I called the Department of Labor in Massachusetts where I was employed. I was told that sick, personal AND vacation time were a benifit granted by the employer and that there was no legal right, under Mass labor law, for an employee to obtain such benifits. It is at the right of the employer. I've found most states do not protect an employee under such circumstances nut you may have a legal right depending on the state in which you reside. Call the Dept of Labor in your state, (wage and hours division).

They cannot change your benefits and pay for time already worked.

And accrued vacation often has to be paid.

File a complaint or inquiry with your nearest Dept of Labor office.
